In seguito all'annuncio sul sito di Steve JAnsen, metamatic.com stamattina da annuncio ufficiale dell'uscita dell'album "A Secret Life" il 23 marzo, e inoltre un mese prima un nuovo album di John Foxx da solista "My Lost City" il 23 febbraio...

..il 2009 promette bene!

Collaborazione con Steve Jansen

E' prevista per marzo la pubblicazione della collaborazione musicale fra John Foxx e Steve Jansen (Japan, Dolphin Brothers, Nine Horses. La notizia è apparsa sul sito dell stesso Jansen con il titol 'a secret life'. L'opera è stata completata da Steve D'Agostino e infatti verrà pubblicata sotto il nome colletivao D'Agostino/Foxx/Jansen.

having met during their live performance in Brighton with Harold Budd, John Foxx invited steve to record tam-tams (gongs) for a potential collaborative release. the dark tones of the tam-tams created a bed for atmospherics and acoustic piano work to be added. due to various other commitments the release seemed to be shelved until steve d'agostino (keyboardist and recording engineer) took it upon himself to complete the work. release date is set for March through Metamatic/distributed by Universal and will be under the artist names D'Agostino/Foxx/Jansen.

Intervista con Gary Numan

In un nuovo intervista su Beatmag, Gary Numan parla di John Foxx e dei sui Ultravox:

Besides Ultravox, who else did you think should have had more success?

GN: “Well, Ultravox was the main one.”

....if you want to look at the band which hasinfluenced me, then you’ve got to look at Ultravox. Ultravox has beenmy blueprint from the word go. As soon as I found them, that helpedshape everything that I was doing. I said that repeatedly. I did myfirst tour with Billy Currie on keyboards – my Ultravox connection wasjust fierce. I really loved them and I really wanted them to get backtogether again...

..I was also really close friends with Warren Cann [drummer with Ultravox] for years. Lovely guy.”

Someone you’ve been mentioning – John Foxx – has alsokept the career going successfully, although on a smaller scale thanyou.

GN: “I’m a big admirer of John Foxx. Ialways have been. I always thought it a massive shame that he didn’tbecome a big pop star.”

Yet he never wanted that.

GN: “Did he not?”

No. He walked away from Ultravox partly because he felt that were on the verge of fame.

GN: “That’s an admirable thing. I just wanted fame more than breathing.”
